It is that time of year – Giving Tuesday is approaching fast and Hope Now has a grand idea for this years giving.

We have big dreams! We want to create programming that allows us to pay our bills, feed and teach our children and support a group of house parents that work diligently to love and care for 58 children as their own.

The nonprofit world is changing. The days of full funding through foundation and grant support is coming to an end. It is our responsibility to be true to our calling, be good stewards and evolve in these changing times.

Hope Now has a once operational organic farm and greenhouse on site. We have land to plant, room to grow and a greenhouse that needs repair. Our dream is to build a farm-to-table Hope Now Organic Farm Cooperative to serve the community and our kids.

Imagine a space where the kids can learn how to organize a planting bed, grow organic produce, run a greenhouse, harvest produce and sell to local organic restaurants and grocery stores. This kind of job skills training will serve them all their lives no matter what they choose to do.

This Giving Tuesday 2017, we are raising money to make this dream a reality for 2018. The budget for this project is $25,000. This includes a bore well for a direct water source on site; soil preparation; vegetation planting; greenhouse rehabilitation and creating a short and long-term business plan.
