Triumph
Life is complicated for all of us. For our kids there is an extra layer of complexity due to their HIV status. This page is dedicated to our kids who have overcome the hurdles, focused on their goals and worked hard to get through school.
They all graduated from college/vocational school, found good jobs and are now living on their own. A triumph to be celebrated. This has been the goal from day one – to ensure our kids are equipped to thrive on their own.
Anil
Anil is a sweet natured, disciplined, hardworking gentleman of very few words. He loves to help around the house, never says no to any chores and is always ready to lend a helping hand. He loves drawing, painting, cricket, football and now wants to pursue playing piano. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and is now pursuing a masters. He works as an Accountant for now, but aspires to be a Statistical Officer in any Government office.
David
David has always known his mind. He has a knack for computers and a drive to see his goals come to life. After he graduated with a bachelor degree in computer science in 2021, he had his sights on getting an MBA in Finance to round out his education and pursue a good job. His placement in graduate school was dependent on his entrance exam score. He needed to get a high enough result to secure a free seat. He studied for months before his exams and was rewarded with a seat at Osmania University in Hyderabad. David will graduate with his MBA in August 2022. He is currently working as an Accounts Assistant for a local nonprofit.
Linga
Linga has a sense of humor that can bring a room to life. When he graduated from high school, he was unsure of what he wanted to do. He moved around a bit, changed his mind a few times but settled into a business administration track in college. He is now working for Quintessential Design as an Administrative Assistant. He is learning how to cook so he and his brothers can eat well.
Nissar
Nissar is a quiet young man and a hard worker. Nissar went to vocational school and graduated as a licensed electrician. For many years he and his brother Ramesh were our “handymen” when it came to electrical repairs around the home. He is currently working for 4B Serve Pvt Ltd as an electrician and handy man, working on whatever needs to be fixed in the building.
Ramesh
Ravi
Ravi has always loved to cook. He spent many hours in the kitchen with the cooking staff creating menus and meals for everyone as he was growing up. During the pandemic, he was a critical part of our staff, cooking and meal planning when we had no one else to do it. He graduated with a bachelor degree in hotel management with an emphasis on being a chef. He is currently working at the local Radisson Blu Hotel and enjoying cooking for his brothers in their new home.
Roja
Roja was our first and her example set the stage for the other kids to reach for their dreams. She has always been a determined young woman and she applied that diligence throughout her college career. She graduated in 2020 with bachelor degree in physical therapy. One of her instructors was so impressed with her, he hired her right out of college to work at his private clinic. She is now the manager and oversees 9 employees. She shares a flat with a few of her sisters still in school. They enjoy many nights on the rooftop terrace of their apartment building.
Yashashwini
Yashashwini is a creative powerhouse with a keen intellect. She has been drawing, painting, sewing her own clothes and making her own jewelry since she was young. She set her sites on a career in marketing. She graduated with a bachelor degree in Computer Science and then spent the next year in a variety of other course work in digital marketing. She is currently working as a Digital Marketing Executive at Medvarsity Online, Ltd.
